Remarks: The trio of ladies clawed and stabbed and bit their way to a great final!  The Mutant Witch, Ccindy Pfeffer, claimed the final victory.  It was certainly not her first time winning Fight Night but it was her first time at claiming the new and highly coveted trophy!

Remarks: A tough fight on a tough map among three well-known veterans of Fight Night.  Void survives to walk away with a second trophy!

Fighters were pitted against each other via the point system this week and matches were as follows:

Point Round

Remarks: Out of the gates, Zack attacked VoidTraveller swiftly, inadvertently getting poisoned several times as the fighters clashed along the perimeter of the arena. Attempting to maximize the potential for healing gas, he continued to test the gas traps with varied results, eventually falling due to accumulated poison and weapons damage.

Remarks: Dassina targeted Briggz early on, prompting the newcomer to run directly across the arena in to various gas and spike traps.  He learned quickly that doing so was not wise and expired shortly afterward.

Remarks: In a game where craftiness, skill and awareness of the arena are key, one who fights with a deliberate disadvantage in weaponry must rely at least in some part upon the complexity of the arena to deal a wild-card or two to their opponent. Unfortunately the minimalist Blunt arena map, with its few mine and spike traps spaced in the middle of each quadrant, did little to provide obstacle to Zeroyel’s opponent. While neither fighter ran in to any traps during this match, Zeroyel’s dependence on fistwraps against Syruss’ flayer on this map spelled out a sure loss for the long-time fighter.

Remarks: Despite his first loss earlier in the round, Zack again set out to quickly take down Briggz. Both fighters did however find the plethora of pit traps to be a major obstacle, as they made for unexpected disappearances and reappearances. Briggz’ seemed able to jump unnaturally high and used it frequently to avoid his opponent while running back at him with a flayer, however this hit and run strategy did not prove to be useful as Zack was able to take him down with a crowbill and a bit of patience.

Remarks: Dassina was poisoned twice early on during her first rush at Zeroyel, across the arena. The two exchanged fisticuffs all over the arena, though Dassina with notably more power from her use of facecrushers. Even so, the fighters were able to keep the match extremely high paced yet survive for a considerable amount of time. Zeroyel was additionally exceptionally lucky in his attempts at Hooper Gambits, receiving no fewer than 3 bursts of healing gas in his attempt to win a point for this round of the match. His luck finally ran out as Dassina finally took him down with a final punch, bringing this exceedingly long and epic match to an end.

Remarks: Syruss and VoidTraveller faced off at close quarters, successfully avoiding mines for some time. Voidtraveller took advantage of Syruss’ lack of action near the end of the match to switch to a nailgun. Enabling him to deal damage from a distance, VoidTraveller successfully used it to distract his opponent in to walking on a mine and was able to finish him off with it rather quickly.

Remarks: The competitors kept things tight, avoiding any peripheral traps, choosing instead to fight in areas, such as the center or near cell doors, where traps were less of a danger. Zach was able to pin Syruss to a cell door for much of the match and was thus able to advance to the final round.

Final Round:

Remarks: Zack and Dassina both leapt out of the gate immediately, while Voiddtraveller bided his time near his own cell door.  His avoidance of combat was interrupted as Zack dropped in on his hiding spot, causing Voidtraveller to run in to a spike trap, then a poison trap. The competitors exchanged blows fairly equally after that point, Zack receiving multiple doses of poison as he attacked both Dassina and Voidtraveller. His attempts to use the gas traps to heal appeared to be successful for some time, but ultimately Zack found this was a losing battle, as he fought to maintain some measure of health at all while the other fighters continued to exchanged blows without him. Nearer the end, Voidtraveller took a page from Zack’s book and also attempted the use of gas traps to maintain his health, however he too found the accumulated poison damage too much to take and fell, leaving Dassina the victor.

The Dodger Town development in Hambone Slash

Maybe its the heat, or the presence of a water pipe, but the once desolate area of Hambone Slash, which used to be populated for arena matches and warfare, is thriving, with many new denizens.
A big new faction has moved in, setting up camp around the Hambone Hill and calling themselves the Dodgers.  They seem to be a mix of races but mostly manimal from what I’ve seen. They appear to thrive on salvage and trading, and love to build. One set of structures at the West end of Hambone is a trading area, Dodger Market, which is open for anyone to set up a shop.  Barrel Dok ((Avatar name: Niles Cournoyer)) is the Dodger to talk to for your shop’s signage, small and minimal being the preference.  I saw a few items for sale, and the number  increased by the time I returned.

Two other shops I had not seen before are in Fort Stygian, near each other and run by two Savage Gypsies cat Yuhara and Cigi Sahara.

Rather than list items by shop, I have come up with a new chart, a bit simpler, showing high and low prices for a variety of items I have seen since the last Market Report. As always, you can probably bargain or barter with a seller to make a deal.

Finally another Market Report question:

Fighters were pitted against each other via the classic tournament system this week and matches were as follows:

Round One:

Remarks: None.

Remarks: CCindy hit a spike and saw trap early in the fight, jumping and evading TheBlackCloud’s swipes. The fight was driven in to a corner, where CCindy received additional poison and spike damage.Astoundingly, CCindy was able to hold on for a significant time afterward, outlasting TheBlackCloud by split-seconds, as she was taken down by accumulated crowbill damage over the length of the fight.

Remarks: Rieela’s abnormal height did not turn out to be a significant advantage; as a relative newcomer to the Fight Night event, she quickly learned that ignoring traps littered throughout the map is dangerous.  While she was able to get a couple of swipes in at her opponent, she fell rather quickly as the result of accumulated damage from mines, saws and gas traps.

Remarks: A fast-paced match which saw minimal trap damage, save for a mine set off by Zeroyel.  The match was mostly uneventful afterward as the fighters clashed tightly, away from traps. Zeroyel eventually fell at the blade of VoidTraveller’s flayer.

Redemption Round:

Remarks: A short match; Rieela received some spike damage early on, along with considerable damage from TheBlackCloud’s crowbill. As the two combattants fought it out in a pit, Rieela fell from accumulated poison and weapons damage.

Remarks: Zeroyel hit a mine early in the match. Sticking closely to his opponent afterward, he received a considerable damage in an attempt to win with a clobbering stick over a flayer. He was unsuccessful in his attempt, allowing KittyKat to take on TheBlackCloud to determine the third finalist.

Remarks: The fighters converged quickly on the center of the map. Kittykat backed in to a set of spikes while TheBlackCloud dealt her a flurry of swipes from a crowbill. She fell shortly afterward.

Round Two:

Remarks: Fast-paced but long fight. For the most part, the fighters were able to avoid traps by fighting along the perimeter of the arena floor. About a third of the fight in, CCindy ran in to a mine, while Dassina gained some healing gas across the arena. Following her opponent around, CCindy accidentally ran in to a gas trap, receiving poison, but also receiving healing gas afterward when she tried the Hooper Gambit again.  CCindy proved both lucky and vicious as Dassina pulled a nailgun closer to the end of the match. Finding her efforts to nail down CCindy unsuccessful, she slipped back to flayer,  while CCindy used a rifle briefly, but also switched back to crowbill nearing the end. Running in to one last gas trap at the end, Dassina fell while being accosted by her opponent.

Remarks: Multiple poison and spike damage along with swift slashes from VoidTraveller’s flayer took Aposiopesis down very quickly.

Final Round:

Remarks: Voidtraveller hit a couple of mines early on while being chased by TheBlackCloud. The competitors attacked each other equally for a while until Voidtraveller took CCindy down with a nailgun about 3/4 in to the match. TheBlackCloud attempted to shorten the distance and deal some close up damage, but VoidTraveller was able to avoid her for the most part, taking out a ripper pistol near the end and mowing her down.

As a special prize, first place winners from every Fight Night will be given special badges highlighting their achievement. VoidTraveller was the first to win one, and shows it off proudly below.

Remarks: This was a fairly tight match seeing KittyKat and Raze narrowly avoiding the traps for the most part until Kittykat strayed in to a corner gas trap near the end. Despite this blunder, it was Raze who fell first from accumulated damage over the match.

Remarks: A fairly fast-paced fight showing off CCIndy’s craftiness as she started off avoiding Kittykat with the use of a pit traps yet later on commenced a tight chase. This caused Kittykat to make multiple failed attempts at the Hooper Gambit, which eventually resulted in her demise.

Remarks: A long match with minimal missteps on the part of either fighter. The match ended in a pit as Raze fell from one last skirmish with his opponent.

Final Round:

Remarks: Kittykat received some mine damage early on during a skirmish with TheBlackCloud, while CCindy watched from afar.  The match shifted seeing the fighting pairs shifting between all three competitors. KittyKat ran in to two more mines while avoiding TheBlackCloud, which took her out of the running for first place. TheBlackCloud then set her sights on CCindy, causing her opponent to run in to a couple of mines but taking on some mine damage on her own as well. The fight ended along the eastern wall as TheBlackCloud attempted to push her opponent in to another mine, but fell abruptly from accumulated weapon and trap damage.

Finalists TheBlackCloud Oh (2), VoidTraveller Seetan (1), Sandusky Kayvon (3)

Fighters were pitted against each other via the classic tournament system this week and matches were as follows:

Round One:

Remarks: The match began with cautious CCindy keeping her distance and avoiding her opponent near the pit traps, however eventually she got several doses of poison (along with healing gas) and was taken down in a pit exchanging slashing blows with KittyKat.

Remarks: The match got off to a slow start as both combattants took their time in their approach. When they did confront each other eventually, the battle was tight and confined to the south-eastern corner of the arena, with VoidTraveller getting a dose of healing gas there. Moving for a short time to the northeastern quadrant, Voidtraveller inadvertently strayed in to a poison gas trap as well.  Nearing the end of the match, Aposiopesis  was exposed to numerous poison and healing gas charges and was finally finished off by VoidTraveller’s flayer.

Remarks: Experience proved to win out between the combatants as Bonulino strayed in to numerous mines, a poison gas trap and spike, taking her out quickly.

Remarks: TheBlackCloud strayed in to a mine early on but was able to deal some bleed damage on her combattant at about the same time.  The two were able to fight a relatively tight match afterward until the bleed damage Sandusky sustained prompted him to attempt a Hooper Gambit twice with the gas trap in the center of the map; failing and succeeding respectively. TheBlackCloud strayed in to another mine nearer to the end of the match, however Sandusky had lost sufficient health by this point to expire, leaving her the winner.

Redemption Round:

Remarks: A nasty fight featuring the two fighters in a corner in the beginning, but seeing some movement closer to the middle, with poison damage on both CCindy and Aposiopesis multiple times. The fight took them around the perimeter of the arena several times with both fighters attempting the Hooper Gambit many times until CCindy finally fell from accumulated poison damage.

Remarks: Pit traps proved to be a hindrance to both fighters as they pepper this map like the chess board the map is named after. Finally, they stood their ground in one such pit, where Sandusky was able to hack down Bonulino and progress to fight Aposiopesis for a spot in Round Two.

Remarks: Fairly tight combat between the competitors along the perimeter of the map.  Aposiopesis attempted and succeeded in a Hooper Gambit stepping away from Sandusky for a moment, but after exchanging blows for some time afterward, she ran in to poison gas and a spike trap. Realizign she was on borrowed time, she attempted to obtain more healing gas by stepping on the gas traps yet again and succeeding about half the time. Finally, in an effort to get at the gas trap in the center of the map, she walked in to a mine and was taken down, leaving Sandusky the winner of the Redemption Round.

Round Two:

Remarks:Kittykat ran in to a couple of mines early on as she and VoidTraveller exchanged furious blows with their flayers. Attempting to gain some healing from the gas traps in the corners, her gambit failed twice and she fell from accumulated damage before she had a chance to deal another blow on VoidTraveller.

Remarks: A very long match. TheBlackCloud managed to avoid effect from the gas trap on the way out of her cell, while Zeroyel was not so fortunate, coming away from his gate with poison damage. The fighters were able to make use of the otherwise mostly trap-less space, with both TheBlackCloud and Zeroyel occasionally making use of the central gas trap in an attempt at staving off death.  TheBlackCloud managed to run in to a mine about half-way through the match but was able to evade Zeroyel’s crushing blows until he fell from accumulated poison damage.

Final Round:

Remarks: The fighters paid each other about equal attention on this mine-ridden map for quite some time out of the gats.  Sandusky hit a mine early on and fell shortly after a confrontation with both TheBlackCloud and Voidtraveller in the north-eastern corner of the arena. Moving cautiously as VoidTraveller led her on a chase around the map several times, TheBlackCloud eventually fell after she accumulated significant damage from his flayer.
