Finalists Aposiopesis Fullstop (3), Dassina Andel (2), Tokiko Tigerpaw (1) Fighters were pitted against each other via traditional tournament style this week and matches were as follows:
Round One
Combatants | Weapons | Map | Winner |
Remarks: The fighters started off early in the southwest corner of the arena, narrowly skirting saw and poison traps on the way in, but Aposiopesis taking on both poison and bleed damage on the way out. The fight moved on to the center oft he map where both combattants attacked eachother at a furious pace. Dassina strayed in to a mine about half-way through the match after missing a swipe at her opponent. After some continued tussles, still mostly clustered around the center of the map, Aposiopesis succumbed first, allowing Dassina to move on to the second round.

Remarks: Quadromortale is a relatively new map to the arena – it features four quadrants of traps (gas, saws, mines, spikes) with only a narrow strip of clear space for fighters to approach each other. Kittykat took the conservative approach this time around, electing to stick on the clear tiles as much as possible while newcomer Saldaron attacked at a frenzied pace around her. Mostly avoiding the more damaging traps, he ran in to a number of gas traps, poison doses outnumbering healing gas. He also ran in to a saw closer to the end of the match, sealing his fate. Kittykat was the last fighter standing.

Remarks:Tokiko elected to secret herself in a pit trap early to wait out the flurry of nails being fired from Nino’s gun. Taking advantage of the time necessary for him to reload, Tokiko emerged to confront him with the nasty kidney burster every now and then. It appears that Nino may have run out of ammunition closer to the end of the match, though, as he did not shoot back and eventually moved to avoid Tokiko, inadvertently running in to various saw and mine traps along the way. He was finally taken out by a mine trap about three minutes in.
Remarks:As can be expected, this fight, on a relatively trapless map, using only fistwraps, took quite a long time. The fight took both all over the map, not hitting any of the mine or spike traps. About six and a half minutes in, Neobokrug unleashed pain in the form of firey grenades, abruptly taking Ironblood out immediately and leaving Sandusky with radiation poisoning.
Redemption Round:
Remarks: Both fighters started off swiftly out of the gates, however Saldaron continued to display a lack of caution in his attacks on Aposiopesis, frequently running in to gas traps and becoming severely poisoned. His loss was thus inevitable, coming just a minute and forty seconds in to the match.
Remarks: Ironblood attempted brute force tactics this time around, choosing to rush his opponent at high speed while paying little attention to the various speed and spike traps along the way. While he did manage to reach nail-gun toting Nino with only three run-ins with gas traps and one with a set of spikes, the chase away from Nino’s eastern cell led Ironblood to get successively more poisoned and bled by gas and spike traps along the way. By the time Nino had fled Ironblood counter-clockwise around the perimeter of the arena once, Ironblood succumbed to his injuries along the south wall.
Remarks: Again attempting to fight his opponent with a nailgun, Nino hugged the south-western corner, just beyond the saws, early on. Aposiopesis quickly remedied this by coming after him behind the saw line, flushing him out for hand to hand combat in the middle of the map (where he switched to a kidney burster). The fight subsequently stuck to the center of the arena for the most part, with Nino straying off to the west wall closer to the end in a failed attempt to escape Aposiopesis’ vicious slashes with her flayer.
Round Two:
Remarks:This match saw more movement overall across this particular map, with Kittykat running in to a spike trap early on, but attempting the Hooper Gambit shortly afterward with varying success in the north-east quadrant of the map. Nearer the end of the match, both fighters began to gamble heavily on the cluster of sixteen gas traps, while they chased each other mostly along the perimeter of the arena. This proved to be prolonging the inevitable, however, as KittyKat’s early abuse of the gas traps led to her demise about two minutes in to the match.
Remarks: Immediately out of the gate, Tokiko headed out of her southern cell, to the north wall. Sandusky followed her cautiously and the two exchanged a very tight set of blows, with Tokiko attempting a Hooper Gambit somewhere close to the end. However, it was Sandusky who fell from accumulated damage from Tokiko’s kidney burster, allowing her to move on to the final round.
Final Round:
Remarks: Aposiopesis immediately rushed Tokiko at the north cell while Dassina kept her distance watching the two tussle. Aposiopesis took advantage of a short lull to go after Dassina, but was then accosted by Tokiko from behind and was the first to fall in this match. Dassina pulled a ripper pistol for a few moments, but realizing Tokiko was turning to attack her, switched to a kidney burster instead. After the two met in a pit trap for a few swings, Dassina escaped northward and switched back to her crowbill. The two met in the middle of the map after this, with Tokiko moving minimally east and west from the center and Dassina circling around her, making liberal use of the gas traps situated diagonally around the center tile. Tokiko eventually headed westward while her opponent attempted to derive some healing from the gas traps. Perhaps realizing her gamble on the gas traps was failing, Dassina stopped and turned west to try and pin Tokiko to the west cell door, but ran in to a spike during the ensuing tussle, which took her out completely.
