Fragment Fellowship

((Editor’s Note: The Post-Apocalyptic Press welcomes Patrice Cournoyer and her first article as a contributing columnist.  While being a member of the Renegades, Patrice is well known as the Curator of the Wastelands Museum where she carefully gathers and documents donations of salvage for its various exhibits.))

The past two days have been eventful during the quest for the glowing fragments.  For a bunch of typically suspicious Wastelanders, temporary alliances surprisingly formed between man, manimal, mutant, and undead.  After a meeting with the old man at the tent  by Raze Rapine, Ccindy Pfeffer and Psycho Baroque, some tentative theories were formed.

First, various owners of the glowing Fragments deduced that they needed to be combined in threes. To test this theory, cooperation was needed, and Wasteland denizens of all types stepped up to help. First, Fang Ruffo donated her fragment to the mutant witch, Ccindy Pfeffer. Second, SuzeLaRousse Milo agreed to share her Fragment with the mustached entrepreneur known as Raze. A small crew gathered at the salvager masheen in the Wasteland bunker to observe the results. This aspiring reporter was lucky to be on hand to watch.

As everyone held their breath, Raze clicked the red switch and placed three Fragments on the dirty table. The time ticked away.. the result.. NOTHING.

The Fragments were too far apart!

A second try gave a message and a clue. Three Fragments of the same family were needed!

On the following day, further cooperation surprisingly happened. Tsukiko Dreamscape agreed to share her two Fragments for testing, and the Black Market zombie, Dexter Bogdanovich, did the same.

A somewhat larger group assembled at the same grimy spot interrupted from time to time by wanderers and Wastelanders.  This time three Fragments of the same family were combined by Dexter. The salvager masheen whirred and clanked slowly … some strange sounds were heard.

And eventually, the masheen spat out a new larger Fragment…

This reporter does not know if any more of these larger Fragments have been made by others outside of this group I’ve mentioned.  But it seems clear that 3 larger Fragments could be made … with work and co-operation.

My opinion is that those 3 could also be combined.. but to make what? and for what ultimate reason or use?
Could the prophecies and preaching rants of the mutant witch come true?  Warning of more redeye flying fight-masheens to come true?
We wait and wonder.
