UPCOMING EVENTS: The Wastelands Third Birthday celebration, 1000 Days in the Desert, is coming up on January 23rd! It’s an all-day event, featuring Taunt the Mutant, Fight Night, Cabeza Muerta, live music by RedZone, and a host of DJs. There’s nothing like it, and it is truly not to be missed. Also, Oku Ghost is now hosting weekly 7Seas Fishing tournaments (aka “Swamp Rats Fishing”) on Sundays at The Pipe Bomb in Malady Bog. They run from 12pm to 1pm SLT, and all equipment can be bought on-site. This week’s L$1000 winner was Dassina Andel with 198 points, followed by Dragnar Drake in second place at 194 and Aposiopesis Fullstop in third with 129. The second-and third-place finishers were rewareded with L$500 and L$250 respectively. ((Additional snapshots of the event can be seen here. – SK))
In other new events, Dassina Andel is seeking community contributions for an American Gladiators-inspired modular obstacle course. Whether you’d like to submit a full module yourself, or help with scripting or texture-application or otherwise modding other submissions, there’s plenty to do! See her Forum post for more details!

LAND INFO: A few parcels of land will soon be available in Hambone Slash. Speak to NeoBokrug Elytis to learn more about the opportunity. As always, currently-available land can be found on http://land.the-wastelands.org .
LONG-TERM PROJECTS: The recently formed Wastelands Public Works (WLPW) is still going strong, and currently working on the area around Fort Stygian. Wander around the crater area to see what’s been added and what’s in the works — but watch your step.
RP NAMEDROPS: Clarington “Mac” McIntyre has gone back to his home in the distant North, but a friend of his heard his stories and has traveled to The Wastelands. He says his name is Marquis de Lafayette — but everyone calls him Stupid Footpad.
Also, a couple of Shady Drifters have been seen ambling through the Wastelands and resting in a camp not far from the Great Fissure. One seems to be looking for a certain person….
