Participants were treated to a special Fight Night run by Sandusky Kayvon, which forced combatants not only to navigate the flat arena map but a full wall height maze as well.
A modified tournament system was employed to determine candidates for the final match with a final redemption brawl held just prior to the final match to determine a fourth fighter.
Round One
Combatants | Weapons | Map | Winner |
Remarks: Jordy and KittyKat clashed soon after the match began and did not let up on each other until KittyKat expired from injuries sustained from Jordy’s crowbill. No traps were set off.
Remarks: None
Remarks: Fei ran in to a gas trap early on while trying to ambush her opponent in the southwest corner; she was fortunate to receive a heal. Fighting continued for a brief while, then Virus pushed Fei in to a set of spikes, running in to a gas trap and getting poisoned herself in the process, but the fight was cut short as Fei ran in to another set of spikes and was taken out abruptly.
Remarks: Both fighters leapt over the walls directly outside of their cells to avoid nearby spike traps blocking off each direction on the floor. They met near the center of the map exchanging blows briefly and then chasing each other for a few minutes. Lyoto hit a spike and mine while evading Apo. Later, he ran in to a gas trap and was poisoned, then strayed in to a spike trap, taking him out of the match.
Remarks: Fighters kept to the perimeter of the map for quite some time, Zeroyel employing high speed and multiple attacks against Psycho’s slower but more damaging technique. Closer to the end, despite a double attempt at a Hooper Gambit, Zeroyel expired from his injuries and recently acquired poison damage.
Remarks: Jeno started out this round making a jump over the walls toward the center of the arena, finding an unexpected gas trap (which poisoned him) where he landed. In the mean time, TheBlackCloud hung back and moved slowly around the perimeter. Eventually, the two started clashing with each other near the northern half of the map. Jeno’s high speed proved to be a liability as it was made at the cost of control. He strayed in to a saw trap half way through the fight, then eventually a mine trap, which took him out completely.
Round Two:
Remarks: Masaka was spiked and poisoned straight out of her cell. In attempt to avoid Jordy’s impending attack, she fled across a spike trap sandwiched between two gas traps, each poisoning her in the process. Jordy moved in and finished her off shortly afterward.
Remarks:High speed but long fight. Virus hit two spike traps in quick succession after leaving the safety of a pit trap. Switching to a nail gun, she was able to keep Aposiopesis at a distance for some time while still dealing damage. She switched to a crowbill after a few minutes of unsuccessful projectile attacks, but was ultimately taken down after another run-in with a spike and persistent attacks from Aposiopesis.
Remarks: Psycho emerged from his cell with a nailgun but switched to a vicious clobbering stick almost immediately. Despite cautious movements early on, both fighters dealt heavy blows to each other when they did meet, about half-way through the match. Psycho attempted (and lost) Hooper Gambits twice closer to the end of the match while closely pursued by TheBlackCloud, then switched back to a nailgun in a moment of respite. Gunfire served to both damage and distract TheBlackCloud, who hit two mine traps on her way to attack him face to face. She expired shortly afterward from accumulated incindiary damage.
Remarks: Maeve was hit with a couple of doses of poison gas and a spike trap early on. KittyKat in close pursuit managed to hit a gas trap as well, also becoming poisoned. KittyKat made and won a Hooper Gambit about half-way through the match, healing some of the damage she recieved from poison and Maeve’s occasional swings. KittyKat switched to a rifle briefly but finding it ineffectual against the maze walls switched back to a flayer and chose to attack Maeve with renewed vigour. As the fighters increased their pace considerably, Maeve began to bleed heavily and attempted a Hooper Gambit twice – failing both times, then running in to a spike trap.
Remarks: Quick match, tightly fought. No traps sprung.
Remarks: Jeno was unavailable for this match. Zeroyel was advanced to the Redemption Brawl by default.
Redemption Brawl:
Remarks: Fighters for this round were released in two waves of three fighters, ten seconds apart.
Final Round:
Remarks: Psycho hit three mine traps early on and was taken out shortly afterward. Lyoto escaped some damage avoiding the fighting while opponents Jordy and Aposiopesis attacked each other viciously for quite some time. Aposiopesis hit a saw trap a third of the way in to the match, and Jordy hit a mine not long afterward. Fighting between the remaining fighters switched often between Aposiopesis vs. Jordy and Aposiopesis vs. Lyoto. As a result, Aposiopesis fell at the hands of Lyoto about four minutes in to the match. Lyoto and Jordy confronted each other shortly afterward and Lyoto emerged victorious.
