Below is a short summary of the latest Community Meeting, followed by its chat logs – which have been gently edited for formatting, to put questions and answers in bold for easy skimming, and to omit greetings and farewells and other such asides. Meetings are hosted by Estate owner NeoBokrug Elytis at 2:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month at The Potato Farm in The Wastelands, and the discussion is typically divided into three main topics: Estate, Game, and Roleplay & Events. Everyone is welcome to attend!
ESTATE:
➳ Occupancy is down a bit, for the first time in many months – but this is typical for late Fall.
➳ North Yard now has some distressed bumper boats, along with some seagulls (possibly also distressed.)
➳ A reminder that Neo won’t move or change infrastructure for the sake of anyone’s build, and also won’t move decor.
➳ He will help with terraforming, though, if you need it.
➳ Find any hoverstuff on a parcel that’s for sale? Let Neo or Apo know, and it can be returned!
➳ Another reminder: for every four weeks of tier they’ve paid, landowners earn one day of grace period after their due date – up to a new maximum of 14 days.
➳ Need an extension beyond that grace period? Neo can very probably work with you – but ONLY if you let him know! Send an IM, notecard, email, a message on Discord, whatever works.
➳ If your tier is overdue, and also past your grace period, and Neo hasn’t heard from you, he will have to reclaim your land.
➳ For landowners with multiple plots, Neo is still working on a tool to make all those parcels due on the same date.
➳ The Northgate Community Gateway is Neo’s primary focus for the rest of the year.
➳ Northgate continues to be Neo’s main focus for the rest of the year.
➳ The Sand Seas rebuild will likely begin in January.
GAME:
➳ Aeg still only gives Mushroom Quests for now, but potion locations will be readded ths month.
➳ The no-HUD-needed Halloween Quest is now over for the year – and was more complicated to code than anticipated.
➳ Future Halloween Quests are likely to use the same system, but will start earlier and have a far longer cooldown timer.
➳ The “stun” effect used in the Halloween Quest has given Neo ideas for other ways to affect movement while HUDded.
➳ This could also include eventual updates to the swimming mechanics.
ROLEPLAY & EVENTS:
➳ Great thanks to everyone who performed, dressed up for, or otherwise participated in Trigger Treat!
➳ October’s Wasted Raiders invasion of Caledon went well: there were zero casualties, and we even got free drinks!
➳ The Black Rider did indeed rampage through The Wastelands once more on the Long NIght. There were several casualties.
➳ Trick-or-Treating took place in both The Wastelands and Caledon – and will again next year, as well!
➳ Caledon Crossover events will be coming soon: the usual Wastelands or Caledon events, just cross-promoted to the
other community.
➳ WL17B, The Wastelands’ 17th Birthday, is coming up in mid-January – likely the 19th through the 21st! If you want to DJ or otherwise host an event, let Neo or Apo know!

NeoBokrug Elytis: Starting with estate and land, Occupancy is down a little bit for the first time in a long time. But that kind of goes with the fall months leading up to the holidays. I expect occupancy to slide further until January. But who knows, this past year was a surprise for me, and the re-addition of Malady Bog seems to have changed the dynamic.

NeoBokrug Elytis: Just a reminder about the recent infrastructure changes to regions over the past few years — I will not alter infrastructure to help your build out. I will also not move the decor on parcels. Your options are to anchor your builds to become part of the infrastructure — without blocking the path. And to either be comfortable with parcel decor, or return it.
NeoBokrug Elytis: I’ve gotten a few requests over the past few months, and I hate to repeatedly say no to such requests. But I certainly do not have the time to help everyone decorate their parcels.
NeoBokrug Elytis: 99% of folks are fine with the above, and already understand. But — I’ve just go to say it again in case readers need reminders.

NeoBokrug Elytis: Additionally, I have been rather strict with parcel due dates and the grace period policy. That policy is that you earn one day of “grace” for every 4 weeks of tier you paid. IF I DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU IN BY ANY METHOD, SUCH AS AN INWORLD IM, OR AN EMAIL; I WILL ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE LEFT SL, AND I WILL RECLAIM YOUR LAND.
NeoBokrug Elytis: So long as you let me know what is going on, I am USUALLY fine with extending your tier.
NeoBokrug Elytis: There’s a new maximum grace period of 14 days now, previously it was 7

NeoBokrug Elytis: I’ve had folks who’ve had RL issues creep in on them, and they’ve had over a month of grace, with of course a promise to catch up.
NeoBokrug Elytis: I can’t really think of anyone who has been overdue, over their grace period, but HAVE contacted me — where things didn’t work out.
NeoBokrug Elytis: Again, I just want to reiterate — that if you contact me about what’s going on, I am find with extending past your current grace period. But if you don’t, I default to the normal grace period policy, which is a risk of me reclaiming your land and returning your items.

So in essence I needed to just rewrite the thing from start to finish.

NeoBokrug Elytis: Heh, I had to add a “fake lava” to the halloween quest too. That was the last thing I forgot about for the Halloween quest. I thought I was done, then I had to spend another couple hours making sure that if you quere questing and you touched the lava you got teleported back (in both directions) to try again, got 1 strike.
NeoBokrug Elytis: Three strikes and you fail.
Dassina Andel: Heh, I’ve been using that spot for lava hopping to “burn up” Hunger.
