This Saturday’s Fight Night saw a decent number of attendees, as residents and newcomers alike arrived, drawn by the promise of a special prize to celebrate the rare third Fight Night of the month.
Fighters this week were Agustsa Jun, Raze Repine, Pirate Graves, Psycho Baroque, Ridley Hooper, Dawnevea Destiny, TheBlackCloud Oh, and Azariah Aviatik, all again fighting on a round-based tournament system.
Pirate and Psycho started things off, each facing off with a board with nails. Both were tasked with avoiding a diagonal array of minefields, but in the end Psycho won out. Agustsa and Dawnevea fought things out, rattler versus knife on the mine-ridden ‘Love is a Battlefield’ map – a close fight, but Agustsa winning out in the end. Next, feathery newcomer Azariah Aviatik confronted TheBlackCloud Oh, knife versus board with nails, on the gas, mine, and saw-trap infested map ‘Russian Roulette’, surprisingly winning out against the Wastelands Mouse. Ridley took down Raze on the ‘Saw Edge’ map, both initially facing off with boards with nails, but Ridley eventually pulling a ripper pistol to finish off the fight (and the round).
Those who lost in Round One were then pitted up against each other in Redemption Round – Pirate’s pipe against Dawnevea’s knife on a mine-infested map; Dawnevea won. TheBlackCloud was then pitted against Raze on the predominantly spike and gas filled map, Hurt and Healing. Lots of poison and spike damage took both downquickly, however Raze was victorious.
The winners of this round were pitted against eachother on the ‘Inner Circle’ map, Dawnevea fighting again with a knife, facing Raze, who continued with his board with nails. Taken out by a mine in the end, Raze lost his chance at top three. Psycho and Ridley then took up knife and board with nails on the ‘Sandworm’ map, which is filled with gas and spikes. True to the move that is his trademark, Ridley Hooper took advantage of gas traps, gambling between recieving damage and healing, eventually winning over Psycho as both were dosed numerous times with both healing and poisonous gas. Finally Agustsa faced off against Azariah on the ‘Prince of Persia’ map, also well known for its spike and poison damage. Both received severe damage from both their weapons and damage from the arena, falling within seconds of eachother. In the end, the contentious match was called for Azariah, whom it was ruled fell last.
As such, Azariah Aviatik, Ridley Hooper and Dawnevea Destiny progressed to the final round, again on the ‘Hurt and Healing’ map. Assailed by massive spike and mine damage, Azariah and Dawnevea confronted eachother first, Azariah falling at Dawnevea’s knife, while Dawnevea it seems was hurt to such a degree that she fell easily and quickly at Ridley’s subsequent attack.
Prizes of $250L, $500L and $1000L respectively were awarded to the third, second and first place finalists.
